A a circa 1900 reticulated box in the form of a single prunus
blossom.
The lid has a motif of a pair of magpies amidst a flowering
prunus tree. The magpie, in Chinese culture, brings an
omen of good fortune. The combination of a magpie and
prunus blossom signifies joy. Two magpies and prunus
blossom therefore signifies joy for a married couple, which
is what this box is all about.
