            An early and extremely rare Chinese Export Silver maker who created fine quality silver, much of it in the neo-
            classical Georgian style.


























































            A fine circa 1850 hinged lidded box with high unusual scene engraved on the lid within a bamboo foliate border.
            The  reversed  “S”  in  so-called  pseudo-hallmarks  Kwan  Shing  regularly  used    is  not  particularly  unusual
            inasmuch  as  spelling  and  grammatical  errors  were  commonplace  in  the  English  versions  of  Chinese  silver
            marks and can, in the main, be put down to the illiteracy of most Chinese at this time. However, in circa 1875
            after Kwan Shing is believed to have ceased to operate, another Chinese silversmith, Onn Sing, operating from
