Singapore had the same habit of reversing the “S” in its silver marks. One can only but wonder whether this is
pure coincidence or Kwan Shing and Onn Sing were in some way connected.
This lidded standing cup, while displaying traditional Chinese decorative motifs of lotus and other water foliage
also has fruiting vines on its lid with a somewhat nondescript bird as a finial - possibly a Mandarin duck. As an
example of a Chinese silver goblet, it is highly unusual as well as being highly accomplished as an example of
fine silversmithing.
