This circa 1890 box of circular form is raised on
                                                                   four  dragon-head  feet.  The  body  of  the  box  is
                                                                   encrusted  in  repoussé  work  with  three  four-
                                                                   clawed  dragons  swirling  within  traditional
                                                                   rolling clouds.
                                                                   An identical box features in Marlowe’s Chinese
                                                                   Export  Silver  catalogue  for  John  Sparks  of
                                                                   London, 1990.

                                                                   This  particular  piece  sold  at  auction  at
                                                                   Christie’s,  South  Kensington  for  £3616  in
                                                                   November 2013.











            The  segmented  bowl  [below]  has  eight  lobed  panels  alternating  with  floral  and  foliate  with  birds  motifs.  The
            bowl is supported in stylised “qilin”hooved feet.
