It has to be said, there are similarities in some silver that carries the Kwong Woo mark to certain Kwan Wo
pieces.
The previously illustrated
teapot could be one such item.
The circa 1930 picture frame
[left], more doubtful. It neither
looks particularly Kwan Wo and
it also carried the singular
“WOO” mark
Chinese Export Silver is full of
similar conundrums and they
simply require a degree of
further research in order to
clarify - which is exactly what is
now happening with the Kwong
Woo/Kwan Wo riddle.
A rather grand circa 1895 tall vase [right] encrusted in continuous figural
scenes has three ornate ears [handles]
