A  matching  pair  of  pounces
                                                                                   carrying  the  Tai  Shan  silver
                                                                                   mark.
                                                                                   They  are  quite  similar  to  the
                                                                                   previously  illustrated
                                                                                   example, but this pair use the
                                                                                   reticulated apertures between
                                                                                   the  turtle’s  teeth  form  the
                                                                                   actual sander mechanism.

                                                                                   Unusually, the pair of sanders
                                                                                   carry  an  inscription  dating
                                                                                   them for 1879.
