The majority of Chinese retail silversmiths had a kettle on a stand in their repertoire, many are outstanding but
this example [above] is different in almost every way. It is a highly individualistic version, rich in Chinese
imagery yet succeeding to stand out from the crowd of all the other kettles of similar ilk. The kettle dates to
circa 1890. The kettle, again, has bamboo stem feet.
