The footed bowl [below, top] is very accomplished. The detail of
the bamboo fronds emerging from the bamboo stem foot to
support the bowl is a highly creative innovation. The framing of
each panel of decorative motifs is also innovative; it is not
typically Chinese although the decorative motif within is. The
extremely finely planished matt ground serves as an ideal canvas
for the polished repoussé work alternating bamboo and prunus
motifs.
The lotus form segmented bowl [below, bottom] is equally
accomplished - the crispness of the repoussé work and the
planished ground just shouts quality.
