A circa 1870 teapot bearing the Yung Xing Cheng mark desperately trying to be an English Victorian teapot and
not quite shaking off its Chinese roots - nevertheless a piece of genius of mind and matter. Particularly
interesting is the chain motif applied to the teapot appears again in another guise on this twin-handled
            segmented bowl [below].
While Yong Xing Cheng has captured a very Victorian atmosphere in these pieces, there is also something quite
un-Victorian too, so perhaps one might say there was something intrinsically schizophrenic about silver bearing
            this mark.
