Page 949 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 949
A tall circa 1880-90 beaker with a
repoussé dragon swirling around
the side on a high polished
ground.
At some point in its life, the
beaker has had an inscription
added in ‘nasta’liq’ script - a form
of Arabic favoured by Persian
speakers. In this case it has been
added using “nail work” - a
popular method with Middle
Eastern silversmiths.
