A RELIEF-CARVED BAMBOO BRUSH POT
18TH CENTURY
The sides are carved in high relief with a continuous scene of three scholars and an attendant carrying
books, two of the scholars standing with the attendant beneath a pine tree while the third scholar
holds a staf as he walks ahead towards the large rock face that divides the scene. The brush pot has
later-added hongmu mounts.
