A SMALL CARVED BAMBOO BRUSH POT
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The exterior is carved in low relief around the sides with various
fowers including lotus. A four-character inscription, min hua shi you
(ten acclaimed fowers) and a seal, wu, are incised below the mouth rim.

Both are of cylindrical form with subtly waisted
sides and with fne grain and attractive patterning,
the larger in particular with several ‘ghost eyes’.
