                                                                                     The fgure is carved with pendulous earlobes, and a serene expression with
                                                                                     downcast eyes. He is wearing long draping robes with his hands in uttarabodhi
                                                                                     mudra and he is seated in dyanasana upon a double lotus base. The body, robes
                                                                                     and double lotus base have traces of gilt lacquer.

MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY

明十七世紀 漆金木觀世音菩薩立像

The standing bodhisattva is carved dressed in fowing robes detailed with
elaborate foliate borders, wearing ornate necklaces and holding a long string
of beads in the left hand. The hair is neatly arranged into a bun to the top of the
head. There is a serene expression to the face with downcast eyes.
