           The cylindrical pot embellished with shou characters and archaic seal  Of square section, carved with roundels of birds amongst blossoming
           script characters, flanked with a loop handle and straight spout, the   prunus branches, the reticulated cover with further prunus blossom,
           flat cover with floral motifs, the inside with a stamped two-character   seal mark to base jingxi hua feng xiang zhi. 12cm (4 3/4in) high
           mark. 10.5cm (4 1/8in) high (2).

           Provenance: A distinguished Italian private collection formed circa   Potted from brick red clay, decorated with a retreat in a pine-strewn
           1930s-1940s, and thence by descent                rocky landscape, the cover with a scrolling foliate band.
                                                             16.5cm (6 1/2in) high. (2).
           The important Italian collector lived and worked in Shanghai between
           1932 and 1936, as representative of his Italian company and in
           1937, following the Sino-Japanese war, was transferred to Dalian in   £2,000 - 3,000
           Southern Manchuria. After a brief period spent in Italy in 1938, he   HK$21,000 - 31,000
           returned to Shanghai where he lived between 1939 and 1940. He   CNY18,000 - 26,000
           then moved to Beijing where he lived between 1941 and 1946 and
           formed the vast majority of his collection of Chinese Art.
