A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE OVAL ‘CHILONG’ PLAQUE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The front of the plaque is well carved in high relief with two crawling chilong, the larger
with fnely incised mane, beard and brows and a long tail with curled tip. The fat reverse
has four bull-nose perforations near the edge. The stone is semi-translucent and of pale
greenish-white color.
