A PALE GREYISH-GREEN AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF BUDDHIST LIONS
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The carving depicts two Buddhist lions, an adult and a cub, encircling a ribbon-tied brocade
ball pierced with diaper pattern, centered above the countersunk center of the underside
which has three tiny bull-nose perforations on the rim of the countersunk area. There are
some opaque white markings in the stone and pale russet color on the underside.
