               etc. carried out.

               Task-based assessment


               During a class session or office/work session, tasks
               can be set and these are assessed according to the
               ability and quality of work carried out at any specific
               time. This allows the teachers to focus on the
               performance of the task and how it is completed or
               carried out. Learners have the opportunity to
               successfully convey meaning and get their
               message across. Such tasks are pre-determined
               and advance notice is always given to a learner.

               Portfolio assessment

               Much of Business English contains a strong
               emphasis on Oral and written communications and
               dialogue. It will be necessary to create and
               complete set portfolio in a given time frame which
               contain course specific work and tasks .These are
               then independently assessed to determine whether
               course and or task objectives have been met .Such
               tasks could be:

                   1.  Reports
                   2.  Facts and figures/charts and graphs
                   3.  Specific company/industry research project,
                   4.  Memo about some new policies,
                   5.  Business letter to a client, etc.
