        Songs and praises, songs and praises,                   thou Should'st lead me on; I loved to choose
        I will ever give to Thee;                               and see my path;  but now

        331 Lead us, heavenly Father,                           I love the garish day, and, spite of fears, Pride
        lead us                                                 ruled my will:

        O‟er the world‟s tempestuous sea;                       So long thy power hath blessed me, sure it still
        Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,                   Will lead me on,
                                                                O'er moor and fen,  o'er crag and torrent, till
        For we have no help but thee,                           The night is gone;
        Yet possessing every blessing
        If our God our Father be. 1/3                           And with the morn those   angel faces smile,
                                                                Which I have loved   long since, and lost awhile.

                                                                Thy throne of grace:
        Pleasure that can never cloy;                           God of our fathers, be the God,

        gloom, Lead thou me on!                                 Give us each day our daily bread,
        The night is dark, and I am far from home, Lead         And raiment fit provide. 3/5

        Keep thou my feet;                                      O spread thy covering wings around,
        I do not ask to see The distant scene;  one step        Till all our wanderings cease,
