        Father, let me dedicate Glory to thee, my God, this night
        All this year to thee,                                  For all the blessings of the light;

        Not from sorrow, pain, or care, Verse 2
        Freedom dare I claim; Forgive me, Lord, for thy dear Son, the ill that I
        This alone shall be my prayer, this day have done, that with the world, myself,
        Glorify Thy name. 1/4 and thee,
                                                                I, ere I sleep, at peace may be. 2/6
        Verse 2
        Can a child presume to choose Where or how to Verse 3
        live? Can a father's love refuse All the best to Teach me to live, that I may dread
        give?                                                   The grave as little as  my bed;
                                                                Teach me to die, that so I may

        Than the best can claim,
        Nor withholdest aught that may Verse 4
        Glorify Thy name. 2/4 O may my soul on thee repose,
                                                                And may sweet sleep mine eyelids close; Sleep
        Verse 3 that shall me more vigorous make to serve my

        Joys that yet are mine;
        If on life, serene and fair, Verse 5
        Brighter rays may shine; When in the night I sleepless lie,
                                                                My mind with heavenly thoughts supply;
        Let my glad heart, while it sings, Let no ill dreams disturb my rest,
        Thee in all proclaim, No powers of darkness me molest. 5/6
        And, whate'er the future brings,
        Glorify Thy name. 3/4 Verse 6
                                                                Praise god, from whom all blessings flow;
        Verse 4                                                 Praise him, all creatures here below;
        If Thou callest to the cross,                           Praise him above, ye heavenly host;
        And its shadow come, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. 6/6
        Turning all my gain to loss, HOME
        Shrouding heart and home;
                                                                500 Morning has broken
        Let me think how Thy dear Son Verse 1
        To his glory came, Morning has broken
        And in deepest woe pray on: Like the first morning,
        Glorify Thy name. Amen. 4/4 Blackbird has spoken Like the first bird.
