without creating problems. Just as sugar is good a panto, but not for
those with diabetes.
I understood the importance, and necessity, to attend the meetings.
That group-type therapy works. For me, it’s like a gas station on the
crossroads of your path where I fill my sobriety tank. It’s the testing
lab in the most frank and friendly camaraderie in which, in keeping
with a simple Twelve Steps program suggested, I try to improve my
personality and my life. I struggle with myself, try to make progress
in the lines of humility; understanding, tolerance and love for one
another. AA. isn’t simply about how to quit drinking; it’s much more
than that. It’s a new way of life. It’s a constant endeavor of growing
closer to a Higher Power however anyone might perceive it.
THESE MEETINGS ARE THE KEY TO SOBREITY.
A. A. is a simple brotherhood which the PAIN unites us..........the
EXPERIENCE guides us.......FAITH strengthens us........and GOD
saves us.
No one diagnosed me. I diagnosed myself. I’m an alcoholic. It
wasn’t easy to recognize. For me, just as with any human being, it
was difficult to recognize FAILURE. But, my life today was born
from recognizing this failure, from the ashes of that defeat... For my
salvation and happiness.
I assure you that it’s such a wonderful thing, in every way. My last
hope has been Alcoholics Anonymous. I cling to that hope 24 hours
after 24 hours. It’s a wide and sturdy hope that has plenty of space
for many more hands to cling to.
If you ever want to meet this hope...if you ever feel the desire to cling
to it... don’t hesitate to do
WE’LL BE WAITING FOR YOU.
