OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT
You are required to obtain written approval from your supervisor before participating in
outside work activities. Approval generally will be granted unless the activity conflicts with the
client’s interests. In general, outside work activities are not allowed when they:
prevent the employee from performing work for which he or she is employed at the
client site, including overtime assignments;
involve organizations that are doing or seek to do business with Checks and Balances,
Inc. and/or the client, including actual or potential vendors or customers; or
violate provisions of law or Checks and Balances, Inc.’s or client’s policies or rules.
From time to time, you may be required to work beyond your normally scheduled hours. You
must perform this work when requested. In cases of conflict with any outside activity, your
obligations to us and the client must be given priority.
GIFTS AND GRATUITIES
Employees have the responsibility to ensure our services are free from even the perception that
courtesies were exchanged for favorable treatment. To minimize the potential for
misunderstanding or the appearance of improper conduct, we discourage offers of even
modest business courtesies and ask for your cooperation in this regard. This policy also extends
to the acceptance of gifts and gratuities by the immediate family members of employees.
We recognize that special circumstances may place our employees in situations that would
make it virtually impossible for them to fully comply with our policy (i.e. attendance at a
luncheon or dinner sponsored by vendors/representative of another firm). In these cases, we
will rely on your good and prudent judgement; however, your manager should be apprised of
any questionable situation immediately afterwards.
