Maqasid Shariah: The Basis of the
1 Wellbeing of People and Country
The religion of Islam was sent by Allah, the Almighty to ensure the well-being of the entire human race
in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah, the Almighty made the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, peace
be upon him, the seal of all previous divine laws. It is the law prescribed for all societies, places and times.
It takes into account the long- and short-term interests of all human beings and is a mercy for the entire
universe. Allah, the Almighty, says:

ٰ
ينِملعلِل ةحر لِإ كنلسرأ امو
Maksudnya: “Dan tiadalah Kami mengutuskan engkau (wahai Muhammad),
melainkan untuk menjadi rahmat bagi sekalian alam” (Surah al-Anbiyā’ 21:107).”
