P. 18

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion
and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can
comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from
God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through
    Christ our comfort overflows.”

We are to pray continually and trust that prayer is powerful and effective (1
Thessalonians 5:17; James 5:16). We are to use our minds as this is where the
spiritual battle takes place (1 Peter 1:13). Christians are free in their minds and we
can ask the Lord to strengthen our minds. When you do suffer and go through
painful trials because you are a Christian and for His name, pray for strength until
the Lord Jesus Christ finally returns to begin all things new. In John 15:11 the Lord
Jesus said "I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your
joy may be full.” There will be joys along the journey. Be confident; find strength
and courage because God’s power, providence and provision will keep you.

We are to worship the Lord through good works (especially towards other
Christians); through ministry and mission; in times of godly praise, adoration,
biblical music and in contemplation of, through and in His Word (Psalm 95:6; Acts
    13:2; Romans 12:1; 1 Timothy 2:10; etc).

Trust that in all things God works for the growth of those who love Him, who have
been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). What is the good that all
things are working together for? To make us like Jesus and conformed to His image
(Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18). There is no higher good than to be like the Lord
    Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 is a declaration of the Kingdom of God and how to enter into it. The
Kingdom of God (or of the Lord Jesus Christ) is His kingship, His rule and reign, His
authority, His sovereignty. We are transferred spiritually into the Kingdom of God
when we become born again Christians; we are raised with the Lord Jesus Christ
and seated with Him in His Kingdom spiritually and have become a Kingdom of
priests (spiritually) to God and as such, through prayer and command (at times) we
have authority over Satan and his demons; through our submission to the will of
the Lord Jesus Christ we can experience here and now blessings of God's Kingdom.
The Kingdom of God is more than food or drink but peace, righteousness and joy in
the Holy Spirit; through it we receive spiritual blessing. Our physical and material
                                                                      18
