P. 13

Lord God I am humbly sorry for my sin and confess that I am lost and dead in
sin. I now turn from my sin and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and
deliverance. I acknowledge that nothing or no one can take my sin from me
or cleanse me from sin other than the Lord Jesus Christ. I confess that only
the Lord Jesus Christ is the loving Saviour, powerful creator and Lord of
heaven and earth. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept that He took
the punishment for my sin by shedding His blood and giving His life for me on
the cross - and by rising again from the dead is able to give me new eternal
life. I receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. I ask Him to come into my life
and be my personal Saviour and Lord.

    Being a disciple

John 3:16 tells us how we become a Christian - a true believer and a disciple by
grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. With true saving faith you are now
born again and spiritually alive with God (John 3:7 ff). Romans 8 says you have
been baptized with and have received the Spirit of Christ who dwells within you
    and seeks to overflow in fullness into every area of your life (1 Corinthians 12:13;
Ephesians 4:30; 5:18). The bible does not teach that there is a second baptism in
the spirit only that the Holy Spirit who dwells with you overflow into your life as
you walk in obedience. Thank God now for the forgiveness of the Lord Jesus Christ
and ask the Lord Jesus to strengthen you inwardly by His Spirit so you can live life
as a faithful Christian to become the person God has planned you to become. Pray
about baptism with water as a believer to declare your faith in the Lord Jesus.
Water baptism as a sign and declaration of salvation is a biblical command
    (Matthew 28:19 etc).

You can be confident that your salvation is eternally secure and that you cannot
lose your salvation. This is because you are chosen by God for salvation and you
have made the choice to be saved. Have faith and trust that the Lord God who
began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus
    (Ephesians 1 4-11; 1 Peter 1:1-2; Philippians 1:6 etc.).

Even though we have eternal assurance of our salvation through God’s work within
us we are to walk in a way worthy of the Gospel (Philippians 1:27). Ask the Lord
                                                                      13
