P. 17
But you need to learn to think about death in childlike ways, and
with trust God. Then he will open your mind to see heaven’s
truths. I’ll say it again: “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing;
but the honor of kings is to search out a matter” (Prov 25:2).
God does not conceal something so we won’t find it. He instead
conceals it so we will want it enough to strive to discover it.-
We must develop a child’s trusting heart toward Christ’s Gospel.
When we do, it just opens up to us like a flower opens up in the
sunshine.
It’s really amazing how much God wants us to know him, and how
much he wants to relate to us. Then he is better able to open up
all that he has to us.
I mentioned God talking to Moses earlier about him sending his
special Prophet-Messenger Jesus with his special Message (Deut
18:15-19). This is repeated in the New Testament: Acts 3-23-26.
We must simply believe Jesus.
Jesus says to repent of all other beliefs and believe his gospel
(Mk 1:15). He says we will be judged by the word he speaks to
us, which is the gospel truth (John 12:48). Paul says God uses the
gospel to judge the secret beliefs of our hearts (Rom 2:16).
And he also says that Jesus is coming back again with his angels
to judge those who do not obey, meaning believe and live his
gospel (II Thes 1:7-9).
