Salvation, and Going to Heaven

                                      Is a Bilateral Subject

Salvation is a bilateral contract with God. In this type of contract,

an offer is made by God, but it also must be accepted by the

person to whom the offer is made. There must be both an offer

and an acceptance for the contract to exist.

Salvation thinking says there must be an acceptance of God’s

offer or there is no contract. A person must say, “Yes, God, I

believe in what you say, and choose to accept your offer of

salvation by means of Jesus Christ.”

At this point, it might be said that a ‘Contract for Heaven’ is

entered into between God and the new Christian.

But until God’s offer is accepted, no ‘Contract for Heaven’ exists.
This may seem like a very clinical way to think about it, but the

Bible is very LEGAL. It is full of legal terms: redemption,

               sanctification, propitiation, ransom, pardon, judgment,

               righteousness, justification, adoption, reconciliation, etcetera.

The Bible even divides itself in to the Old and New ‘Testaments,’
or ‘Covenants,’ which are other words for ’contracts’ — just as we

are discussing. Even faith is defined as evidence, which is another

               legal term.
