Being a lawyer by profession, the Bible speaks my language,
and it is one reason I became ‘The Gospel Life Coach.’ I began
seeing things that many people I spoke with didn’t see.
I began seeing what Jesus meant by having ‘eyes to see’ and
‘ears to hear.’ We all have eyes and ears, but we don’t all see
and hear what is really being said in the Bible.
Showing salvation to be a ‘contract,’ as I do, often helps people
see what the Bible is saying.
Again, our beliefs must be founded on a firm foundation. They
can’t just be ‘seat of the pants’ beliefs that we concoct or adopt
from someone else – even a preacher or our pastor. Beliefs
about salvation, heaven, hell, death, and many other things must
be founded on the ‘Rock,’ as Jesus says, not on sand.
Salvation becomes an emotional reality when we truly believe
what the Bible says. The bottom line to this is a Christian must
adopt the Bible as their foundation for belief. And Jesus says we
must believe and live his gospel to walk with him.
The Bible gives the offer of salvation, and thereby the gift of
heaven. But this offer must be accepted. Otherwise, the Bible
says that we reject God’s offer by default.
Default is when you don’t do something that you should or must
do. Thus ‘default judgments’ are entered by the court if a person
does not answer a complaint they are served with.
