“The longing of our Father’s heart is for us to know him just as a
loving, dependent, child relates to his Daddy – but also as mature
sons and daughters know and respect their Father.
“Both Jesus and Paul used the term ‘Abba Father.’ This denotes
agape love and intimacy, but also awesome respect and reverence.
“The word Abba denotes an unreasoned expression of trust, love,
dependency, and confidence from a child.
“The word Father denotes a reasoned appreciation, honor and
esteem from a son or daughter.
“We will always be both children, and sons and daughters.”
When we have set aside the rules, and have established the
gospel in your heart, we are doing what Jesus said he did in
Hebrews 10:9: “Then Jesus said, ‘Behold, I come to do your will,
O God.’ He takes away the first (Old Covenant law) that he may
establish the second (New Covenant gospel).”
Jesus did it historically. We must do it personally and practically
in each of our lives for it to be the same for us.
If your relationship with Father is that of a child, his love totally
saturates you. As his child, all you know is his love. There is not
the slightest degree of fear because his perfect love casts out all
fear. You have a sound mind fully rooted in his love.
