P. 70
Can you see the huge difference this makes
when we must face the final reality of life?
Death cannot be the ultimate life experience
if we are living life by means of rules and laws,
and not as a loving child of our Abba Father.
Living as a child allows our Abba to ‘increase’ his love in us, as
Paul says, until we ‘abound’ in it (I Cor 3:12). The picture is we
are DROWNING in his love, or being so filled up with it we are
like a balloon that is ready to pop.
It’s the same thing Paul means when he says we are ‘baptized in
Christ.’ We are SUBMERGED in Christ. As far as Father’s love
goes, we are so fat and obese in his love it is all we know.
If we’re childlike, and live believing and trusting our Abba Father
and his gospel, then love is our life experience. What does love
do in us? It makes us love our Father like never before, and trust
him like we never dreamed possible.
If all you know is LOVE, without mixing LAW in, — by definition,
all you know is LOVE, and trust is born in that love. This is what
gives birth to a life of worship. This is what births a life totally
focused on the glory of God. There is no other response.
LAW negatively impacts everything in our spiritual life. Paul says
if we live by even one law we must keep it all or we are cursed.
How does it curse us? It does so by even making us doubt our
salvation. If we are not entirely sure of our salvation then we
can’t truly know God’s love. Law will always erase love.
