              Qatar  expressed  hope  that  more  Malaysian  companies
               invest  in  Qatar.  Qatar  can  be  seen  as  a  gateway  to  the
               Middle East market and Malaysia as a springboard to the

               ASEAN  market.  The  2   Malaysia-Qatar  Joint  Trade
               Committee  Meeting  is  scheduled  to  be  held  on  28-29
               March 2019.

        (iii)   ASEAN Dialogue Partner

              Noting the good relationship between Malaysia and Qatar,
               YBM also expressed the possibility of proposing Qatar to
               be a dialogue partner in ASEAN.

        Salient points of Discussion:

              Qatar  intends  to  have  more  partnership  with  Malaysia.
               However,  due  to  bureucracy  in  the  government,  H.E
               Fahad request for MITI’s supports to expedite any process
               in  order  to  ensure  both  countries  can  work  together  to
               enhance the bilateral ties.

              MITI  agreed  to  host  the  second  JTC  Meeting  in  Kuala
               Lumpur  on  28-29  March  2019.  This  matter  was  also
               conveyed to the Qatar Minister of Commerce and Industry
               during the Courtesy Call by Malaysia Ambassador in Doha
               on 3 January 2019.

              Qatar side would like to sign the IGA at the sideline of the
               2nd  JTC  meeting.  However,  due  to  the  change  of
               government,  MITI’s  division  handling  the  IGA  needs  to
