7.45am:
Got up, shaved, showered and stuff.
Plodded into the living room, Gilbert snoozing as usual. Made coffee.
Today I’m going to get some answers about my overdue pay and, hopefully, at last pay the rent
and some utilities. There’s no point in worrying about getting internet installed now – talk is that
restrictions might be lifted next week, so I’ll wait and see. If lockdown is extended, then I’ll
reconsider getting internet. Sat for a little while enjoying first cup of the day, man, it’s already
hot and the sky is overcast!
Two hours later…..
Got paid, paid the rent YAY! Now I can relax a bit. I hate
being in debt especially in relation to the rent. Have a couple RENT
of hundred dollars in the bank, so will pay some utilities as WATER
soon as I can – nothing is very much outstanding; my electric POWER
bill is $61, which includes $30.40 overdue and my cable is CABLE
$119, which includes $59 overdue. I’ll pay them up. Water is
around $40 I think, but haven’t received a recent bill from
them. Feeling somewhat happy now, but have to go talk to the
Boss this afternoon, he asked for the call at 2pm (my time,
he’s in Holland remember).
While I was waiting for confirmation that pay had been transferred, I check facebook for
notifications and exchanged text chat with Rob and Aubry (Vikings Rugbiers) and Ash
(Hummingbirds Rugbier); they all seem to be doing ok, but anxious to get back playing rugby.
That was good to hear. I sent them images of some pages from this diary – so they can have a
laugh.
Returned home for coffee.
Speaking of debt; this has been on my mind for a while now. I have only two debts which I must
clear up: I owe two individuals the sums of $500 and $700 respectively. One, a business
associate, for his generous assistance, when I needed to raise money for my Permanent
Residency application, and the other, for some rugby t shirts for the Hummingbirds. The first is
about eight months overdue, and I hate not having been able to pay him back. For me, being in
debt to somebody, especially a friend, is unforgiveable. Not paying somebody back speaks to
