WORLD MATH DAY
World Math Day falls on the 15th of October.
DGPS primary celebrated it on Sunday, 20th of
October for Years 1-6. All the students were
engaged in various math and cross-curricular
activities.
The boys of Year 6 and the secondary
students had an exciting opportunity to step
into the shoes of teachers for a period, teaching
students of Years 4 and 5. It was a day of creativity
and learning mathematics in different contexts.
ANGLE BLAST
The students of Year 5 had an outdoor learning experience with mathematical angles in the school quadrangle. The activity included playing a game
of ‘Simon Says’ to make angles, using their hands and fingers, followed by a one minute search around the quadrangle to spot out angled objects
and murals. The activity ended with a rapid fire face-off round of mental math on angle sizes. The students had an engaging and fun-filled time with
reinforcement of fundamental mathematical concepts.
