DACH&RUSSIA: DIVERSE WITH POTENTIAL FOR SYNERGIES
About me:
I have been with the HP/HPE Why is the GEO called DACH & Russia?
DACH is a combination of the abbreviations for three countries:
family for 33 years, mainly in all D for Germany,
sorts of HR roles. Briefly left HP A for Austria and
to take a Global HR lead at a CH for Switzerland
midsize High Tech Company and These 3 countries are managed in many companies as one sub-region and
then came back to HPE. therefore in Europe DACH is a common term for these 3 countries. So with
DACH & Russia, all 4 countries are represented in the name of the GEO.
I like working in the team. I like to
receive and to provide direct and
timely feedback. I like One of the most important HR-challenges in all 4 countries is, to ensure
pragmatism and do not like a strong pipeline for talented graduates and early careers.
bureaucracy. All countries have:
• Low unemployment
• Tough labor-market for talented graduates with modern IT
knowledge.
• Topics like IoT, Industry 4.0 and in general digitalization
led to a strong demand for skilled graduates in that area.
Not only the classic IT companies but even more almost all industries
namely Automotive, Manufacturing, Finance, Healthcare, which all have
strong footprints in our countries have huge demand for “digital natives”.
There is a “war for talents” for these profiles. Each country so far has
developed their own strategy to be successful in their respective labor
market.
