PROTECTING
YOUR FREEDOM
TO OPERATE
I
othing is more important than your
freedom to operate around the world.
NTherefore, the IAGC's advocacy and
regulatory activities focus on our mission
of optimizing the business and regulatory
climate in a strategic manner and advancing
a positive profile for the geophysical industry
with governments, stakeholders and allied
trade associations.
Many countries look to the U.S. when
establishing their own regulatory frameworks
and seek to replicate those regulations. The
work the IAGC does in the U.S. not only has
important implications for the future of our
industry in North America, but also has a
resounding impact for the rest of the world.
2017 has been a year of positive change
and significant victories for the geophysical
industry in the U.S., ensuring your freedom
to operate, while still presenting tremendous
challenges. The extensive and continued
efforts of the IAGC staff and members are
paying off with landmark recognition and
progress, but there is still much work to be
done.
Our 2017 theme of "New Frontiers, Mapping
a Sustainable Future for the Geophysical
Industry" has been the guiding principle
for our strategies and activities. The IAGC
continues to shape the oil industry's dialogue
on our interaction with the environment
and drive a cooperative regulatory strategy
necessary for a viable exploration industry.
