Indorama Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited (IFL) is operating a 2300 MTPD Natural gas-
based ammonia and 4000 MTPD granular urea plant. The IFL plants a total fertilizer
solution provider, are located besides the IPL plant within the Indorama complex, Port
Harcourt, Nigeria. IFL is one amongst the most ambitious green field projects of Indorama
in Nigeria and is the world’s largest single train Urea – Fertilizer plant, commissioned in
June 2016.
Ammonia and urea plants are licensed by KBR, USA and Global Toyo, Japan
respectively. The IFL operations are supported by Utilities such as cooling tower,
ammonia storage, condensate polisher, flare stacks, product handling and water
treatment plant. The fertilizer plant is well supported by port terminal at the nearby Onne
port, and a gas pipeline of 83.5KM for gas supply.
The IFL plant started commercial production in June 2016 and is bringing a green
revolution in the agriculture sector not only in Nigeria but also in other parts of Africa and
world at large.
Besides making the fertilizer products to be available at affordable cost, the plant will
boost crop productivity to farmers and greatly help in minimizing the food grain deficit in
Nigeria and other countries.
