The Electrical Department

Backbone of any manufacturing unit is the availability of reliable electrical power to all
equipment. Electrical team is working round the clock ensuring uninterrupted power
supply to all manufacturing plants. This involves predictive and preventive maintenance
and upkeep of following:

• Power Generation and Distribution

• GE make generators having total installed capacity of 150MW with exciter control
with GE EX2100 & generator protection with GCP30 relays and power distribution
network with Mitsubishi system. Complex power distribution is through
33KV/11KV/3.3KV network across the complex. EDG for emergency backup
power having generating capacity of 8 MW from MITSUBISHI.

• Electrical equipment and machineries

• Electric Motors / Variable Speed Drive / Protection Programmable Logic
Controllers / Transformer / Power cabling network / Electrical Panels / Protection
system / Uninterrupted Power Supply Systems / Battery chargers / Lighting system
/ Lightning Protection

• Central maintenance facility

• An in-house facility for overhauling of HT/LT motors, relay testing /transformer oil
testing, cable fault locator, earth resistance, thermography, MCSA (motor current
signature analysis).
