The Electrical Department

The Electrical department ensures the availability of 24/7 electrical power to
Ammonia /Urea /Bagging /Cooling Tower and other services for uninterrupted plant
operations. The electrical department is manned by a team of qualified,
experienced and competent professionals supported by best in class technology.
The various supporting technology available are-

• Power Distribution- Power distribution at IFL is through 33KV/11KV/3.3KV
network across the complex.

• Transformer – Transformer are Oil cooled, Dry types and Hermetically sealed with
rating ranging from 400kVA to 50MVA.

• Electric Motors – Multiple electric motors of Hyundai, WEG, Crompton, ABB,
Siemens, Fuji make are working round the clock. The rating of these motors’
ranges from 0.37kW to 2600kW.

• Electrical Panels – Low Voltage Switchboard (up to 415V, 4500Amp) and High
Voltage Switchboard (up to 11kV, 3000Amps) of SCHNEIDER, L&T make

• Substation Automation System & Fast Load Shedding – SCADA systems from
Schneider are available to monitor the overall IFL electrical system.

• Other Technologies- The other associated technologies are protection relays
from Schneider, Variable Frequency Drives from Siemens, ABB, Danfoss,
Uninterrupted power supply systems by Borri, Emerson, Hi-Tech UPS supported
by battery banks in each section, Lighting system from Baliga and Lightening
protection by earthing network.
