The Safety Department

The primary role of the Safety department is to ensure safety of all employees,
contractors and other associates along with company assets that facilitate un interrupted
and continuous operations of all plants and economic activities. It is also responsible for
ensuring that the company complies to all National and International statutory
requirements and obligations.

Major functions of safety department are to implement best practices, organize safety
induction for new employees and others, ensure strict compliance to Permit to work
(PTW), organize periodic work permit audits, carry out Risk assessment, proactive hazard
analysis, conducting health and safety inspections and monitoring workplace for hazards,
conduct Incident investigation and organizing various safety awareness and promotion
campaigns and competitions.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Safety

• Use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times,
• Park the vehicle always “nose out”, easy to take out in emergency.
• Observe speed limit (30 km/h maximum) on site for vehicles.
• Use only approved safety Torches inside plant.
• Keep access to firefighting equipment free & Keep all fire exits free
• Wash with copious amount of water in case of acid/ caustic/ chemical spills/burns
• Avoid walking on pipeline/ Insulated pipelines/ false ceiling
• Understand emergency sirens
• Do not bring any match box, lighters & smoke inside restricted area
• Do not enter any plant without the consent of the Shift-In-Charge or Chief Operator
• Do not use Mobile phones inside restricted Areas
• Do not wear metallic chains on neck or wrist.
• Do not wear any loose clothes while working inside plant
