SLIGO CONTD.

CHRISTMAS DINNER
Our dinner was held in The Sligo
Park Hotel on Sunday December 4th. A
very enjoyable day was had by all, and
compliments to the hotel for the
beautiful meal and great service. We
had some lovely spot prizes donated for
our raffle, and congrats to those who Sligo
were lucky in the draw.
Liz Gilligan, a former Committee
member, presented a banner bearing
the ‘Forget-Me-Not’ flower, to our
Chairman, Michael McHugh. Liz is a
very gifted seamstress, and made the
banner for a fashion show we had back
in April of this year. Liz has now retired
from our branch monthly meetings, but
is still a very willing volunteer. It is her
wish that the banner be displayed in
Renal Support Centre in Dublin.

ORGAN DONOR AWARENESS WEEK
As this week is the biggest
fundraiser in the IKA calendar, our
branch will require a lot of volunteers
to help us fundraise and more
importantly, to raise more awareness of
organ donation. I am always on the
lookout for new volunteers so I can give
the regular ones a break. I seem to call
on the same people year in, year out. If
you have some spare time during the
week (April 1st-8th) in 2017, please
think about helping out?
Our branch has had a very good
financial year, and on behalf of our
branch Committee, I wish to thank
everyone who so generously donated
to our branch.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
A very happy Christmas to our renal
patients, their families, and to the
wonderful doctors, nurses and staff in
the renal unit, for their care and
dedication to our patients. We wish you
and all our readers a happy, healthy
2017.
