APEC Executive Director, Ambassador Tan Sri Datuk Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria – Meeting with
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat
Tan Sri Datuk Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria stepped down after three distinguished terms as Executive Director of
the APEC Secretariat. She has been a long-time supporter of the APEC Voices of the Future programme, which
has been chaired by the NYAA Executive Director since 2010.

After a comprehensive selection process, Mr Edgardo Pedrosa, Secretary-General of the Pacific Economic
Cooperation Council (PECC), was appointed by the 21 APEC Member Economies as the next APEC Executive
Director for a two-year term starting January 2025. His appointment was endorsed by the APEC Economic and
Trade Ministers in Peru. The Executive Director, who has known Mr Pedrosa for many years, looks forward to
working with him in 2025.

Deputy Prime Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat presented an appreciation plaque to Ambassador Tan Sri Rebecca
for her invaluable support of the APEC Voices of the Future programme organised by NYAA Singapore.
