MISSION
The aims of the Association are:
• To encourage young people between the ages of 13 and 30 to develop personal qualities of
self-reliance, perseverance, and a sense of responsibility to themselves, society, and the
nation.
• To promote and present to the young people of Singapore a balanced, non-competitive
programme that encourages self-development without regard to gender, race, religion or
physical impediment.
POLICIES
FINANCE AND FUNDING
The NYAA Association is a self-supportive, not-for-profit organisation relying on diverse funding
sources. Our primary donor is The Tote Board, supporting our cause significantly. In addition, we
receive donations from corporations, foundations and generous contributions from the public.
To sustain our operations, the Association also collects nominal registration fees from participants
in the NYAA Programme. These fees vary depending on the programme level, with Bronze
participants paying S$7.00, Silver participants paying S$12.00, and Gold participants paying
S$17.00.
It is worth noting that most of our programmes and activities are free of charge to ensure
inclusivity and accessibility. However, one of our flagship programmes, the APEC Voices of the
Future Program, requires a registration fee. This programme takes place overseas in one of the
host economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), which consists of 21 member
economies.
Through this diversified funding approach and the support of our key stakeholders, the National
Youth Achievement Award Association continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of
young people in our community.
PARTICIPATION IN THE NYAA PROGRAMME
The National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Youth Leadership Development Programme is an
inspiring self-development program for young individuals aged 13 to 30. It offers a comprehensive,
well-rounded, and non-competitive platform for voluntary leisure activities. It aims to empower
our youth to cultivate personal qualities and skills that positively impact themselves, their
communities, and the world. The newly designed NYAA program aligns with the Ministry of
Education's Levels of Attainment, emphasising the individual's effort and merit. Each level is
autonomous on its own. Participants can embark on any level; however, you must consider their
age when choosing that level. The NYAA Programme consists of three levels:
Bronze Level: Open to individuals aged 13 to under 30 years old
Minimum involvement period: 6 months
Silver Level: Available for individuals aged 15 to under 30 years old
Minimum involvement period: 12 months
Gold Level: Designed for individuals aged 16 to under 30 years old
