For Gold Level Only

Participants at the Gold Level are required to undertake the fourth component, the Community
                   Leadership Initiative.

Community Leadership Initiative (Creating an Impact, Delivering Change)

This component challenges them to take on leadership roles in community service projects.
Participants must identify a community need and find practical solutions that promote positive
outcomes while understanding cultural differences. They are encouraged to collaborate with
individuals from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their leadership skills and contributing to
service-oriented, culturally sensitive initiatives. This section anticipates student/youth-initiated
activities that bring meaningful contributions to the community, nationally or internationally.

                   Objective:
To build leadership skills while serving the needs of the community.

The Gold Level participant can take the initiative/project individually or in small groups.

POLICY RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST

The NYAA Association maintains a policy to address management and conflicts of interest, as the
Constitution outlines. According to this policy, Directors are responsible for avoiding any situation
where their duties or personal interests may conflict with their obligations as Directors. Directors
must disclose their interests in a conflict and refrain from participating in or voting on related
matters. To further ensure ethical conduct, the Association has established a Conflict of Interest
Policy for Staff and a Code of Ethics for Council Members.

In 2022, there were no reported cases or issues involving conflicts of interest among council
members or staff. However, should any such problems arise, members and staff must declare their
interests and abstain from decision-making processes related to the particular case.

The Association maintains an open and transparent approach to management and staff hiring
matters. Job vacancies are advertised through various internet portals, including Jobstreet,
                   JobsDB, LinkedIn, and Indeed.

As for matters about remuneration, increments, and bonuses, these are determined by the
Finance Committee, led by the Treasurer, Mr Alec Ang, and the Council Members of the National
Youth Achievement Award, chaired by Mr Eugene Seah Hsiu-Min, who serves as the Chairman of
the NYAA National Council. The decision-making process ensures appropriate governance and
                   accountability in financial matters.

The NYAA Association remains committed to upholding integrity, transparency, and fair practices
                   in its management and operations.

                   FUTURE PLANS

Leveraging on Technology for NYAA Mobile Apps & Activities

The NYAA is embracing technology to enhance the participant experience by developing an online
registration system and mobile apps for activity recording. This transition from traditional printed
materials to digital platforms offers numerous advantages.
