The Revolution of Imam Hussein
and their adherents who were fighting to gain back
the Islamic world economically, politically, and
psychologically, and deviating from the Quran and the
traditions of the Prophet (P) (Sunna).
Imam Hussein (as) was responsible for instilling the
standard of that which is right, truth, justice, equity, and
humanity, and was prepared to defend the Islamic values
and pursue them (22).
Imam Hussein (as) relied on Quranic verses as well as
the traditions of the Prophet (p) and the practices of
his father al-Imam Ali (as) as the sources from which he
derived his revolution. Ultimately, it was his desire to
restore Islam, which led to his decision to resist and revolt
against the tyranny of Yazid’s rule, as he had been taught
by the Prophet (p) that “There is no obedience in sin”
(23). And “Do not obey a creature against his creator.”
