Roll the spike back from position 3 (C) to the start of the service (mark 1),
position 1 in (D), and simultaneously gently pull back the slack out of the wire.
Insert the marlinspike over the heart at mark 1 (D) and pick up only two
strands of the standing part this time. Rotate the marlinspike as before so it
travels down the wire. Insert Strand 2 (the strand next to Strand 1) of the
working end at the same place as Strand 1, but exit the standing part one strand
farther away from the beginning of the service (mark 1). Roll the spike back,
close to mark 1. With Strand 3, pick up only one strand. Remember to have it
enter at the same spot as Strands 1 and 2.
