LOCK TUCK FOR LIVERPOOL WIRE SPLICE
The Liverpool Wire Eye Splice is the splice of choice for all “7×” wires,
perfect for hoisting or lifting loads. However, if the splice is incomplete
(without a tight jacket of service) and suspended with a load, it will
gradually untwist and eventually drop its load. If the service comes off
because of wear or age or because it wasn’t applied well to begin with,
the Liverpool splice might not hold. Setting in the two extra tucks shown
here will prevent the Liverpool splice from coming apart.
