In my class, teenagers are crazy, old-fashioned and modern. Actually, on the whole,
we standard nines are the most “with it” teenagers at Merensky High School.

Teenagers today all have different tastes and the variety in my class is so great that
I can’t possibly name them all.

As far as the boys are concerned –

Gert wouldn’t miss a rugbymatch and wouldn’t mind having pretty girls around him all
day.
Opperman again wouldn’t like to miss his Wednesday pudding!
If only Boet could have a few hundred motorcars and a dream girl to date every night, I
think he’d be the happiest teenager alive.
The day Roy stays awake in the English class, I think we all will be rewarded with ice-
cream.
Billy would be the happiest teenager if he could be around airplanes or in the air flying.
If only James could be one of the “Beach Boys” pop-groups would be a sensation.
As for Bruce, I think he’d be a happy teenager if only he could have his daily packet of
Lucky Strike and a report of the World news.

Now for the girls :
To start with Suret – She would be happy is she could dream away the evening on a dance
floor.
Etta wouldn’t mind listening to jokes all day .
If Louis could only straighten her hair somehow!

Kleintjie would be a very unhappy teenager if she didn’t get her beauty sleep each night.
Anything that looks like a guitar, Kay will fall for.
