Inventory

              AUDIT

There are a couple of things that have a profound impact on your
inventory that you always need to consider: the return inventory product
flow and validation of items before they leave the store.

Product is constantly moving through the stores, so it’s important that
we check and recheck our items as they arrive and leave our store.
The best way to keep a handle on inventory, and to make your physical
inventory process as short as possible, is to validate your items when
they come back to you. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT / INVENTORY AUDIT

Q: If a product doesn’t have a serial number, where you can you find it?
A: The original rental agreement information can provide matching
              validating numbers.

Most items have serial numbers that can be used for verification, while
all others should have proper tags and item numbers assigned to them.
Each item is unique in the system—sure, we may have many 50” Sony
televisions, but each has a particular item number assigned to it.

One customer is assigned a television once they sign that agreement,
and no one else should get it—not another store, not another customer.
So we validate serial numbers and price tags before product leaves
the store. Locally owned and operated RAC locations inventory is
accounted for by a unique id number known as an item number. When
new inventory is received into the POS system a unique number is
assigned and written or documented on labels that are adhered to each
component of that item number. Franchise locations perform manual
inventory audits based on this unique number.
