CALCULATION – 4M

Mephentermine sulphate: Mephentermine = 1.4: 1 - 1M

Strength recommended = 15 mg/mL - 1M
For M 15 mg/mL,
MS = 21 mg/mL - 1M

For 40 mL, 21 x 40 = 840 mg or 0.84 g needed - 1M

METHOD -4M
1. Weigh/measure all ingredients.
2. Add all together in measuring cylinder.
3. Top up with WFI to 40 mL. Mix well. -0.5M
4. Filter using sintered glass filter grade 3. -0.5M
5. Check solution using Allen viewer for any particles. -0.5M
6. Transfer 20 mL of the solution into MDV using a rinsed measuring cylinder. -0.5M
7. Close the bottle with rubber closure -0.5M and metal cap. -0.5M
8. Sterilise the preparation by selected method. -0.5M
9. Label the preparation. -0.5M

Bactericide: Chlorocresol 0.1 %w/v – 0.5M
