Exercise 3.2
Phenol (oily) submucosal 1.5 mL for multiple sites

Phenol Injection, Oily BPC (Page 716).
50 mL
Phenol 5 g 2.5 g
Almond oil to 100 mL 40 mL

Method (page 916):
1. Weigh Phenol 2.5 g
2. Measure 40 mL almond oil
3. Warm about half of the almond oil and dissolve phenol in it.
4. Add an almond oil qs ad to 50 mL
9. Filter the oil using sintered glass filter no 3 (Filter solution with a separate set of filter)
5. Transfer 5.5 mL solution into each ampoule.

≥ 2 ≤ 5 mL oil 0.5 mL 5 + 0.5 = 5.5 mL
6. Seal ampoule
7. Conduct leak test
8. Sterilise the preparation by dry heat sterilisation at 150°C for 1 hr
9. Label preparation
