        OUR RETIREES
     Barbara Alexander
     Mary Antonison
Elise Bara Finally, the beautiful summerlike weather is upon us and we can see the
Eileen Berk light at the end of the tunnel…another year in the books! Each of us will
Jo-Anne Bijas now begin the preparations for the next school year, whether it be in the
Gwen Botwinick maintenance of the building and grounds, record keeping for the next
Elizabeth Calimano group of students, preparation and updates in our kitchens for the first
     Maria Canzano
Linda Caputo meals of next year, updating the technology for all students and staff, the
Liliana Cicchetti servicing of our buses for our newest riders in September, or the planning
Dorothy Clark and learning for next year’s goals. EBEA members are always working…
Lolita Clyburn always dedicated… always goal minded… always ready to serve our
Norma Comerford students and community. However, I am asking all of you to please take
Jonathan Connors time for yourselves and families. It is super important for each of you to relax your mind, body,
Felicidad Cruz and spirit. You all work so incredibly hard and do so much with such dedication and
Barbara Czarnecki perseverance. Now is the time to enjoy the summer and take time to focus on you! YOU deserve
Anthony Dabroski it and so much more. Thank you for all you do for our students and community!
     Kathryn Demko
Kathleen Desimon Congratulations to the 56 retirees! We celebrated and honored each of you at the District
Patricia Donahue Retirement Party on June 6, 2018 at The Estate on Farrington. The “Jersey Shore” theme was a
Cathy Easley hint of your new “beach bum” life! Your years of service to East Brunswick have left indelible
Joanne Ficke marks on so many students, staff, and parents. The EBEA wishes you great joy in your retirement
Leslie Gaertner and we hope that you will stay connected to our organization. You are the “history” of this
Julie Ginsberg organization and as the quote goes, “the past is the window to the future” …we hope you will be
     Lorri Goldberg
Sondra Goldstein in our “window” as you enter retirement! We hope you stay in touch and stay involved with the
     Margaret Hearty NJREA and EBEA.
Pearl Hillman We are waiting for the ruling of the Janus vs AFSCME case any day now. This case is an attack on
Nancy Huber unions. Wealthy corporate America is looking to diminish the power of unions nationally. I am
Susan Jastrzebski confident we will stay strong in East Brunswick and New Jersey. There are numerous studies
     Denise Katzen
Rosemarie Kiernan which show a direct correlation between high academic school districts and strong unions. It is
Priva Lerman very important to remember the value of being a union member. Please be aware that you may
Harriet Lutsky be contacted by outside groups offering an “insurance policy” for attorney protection in lieu of
Lourdes Mamaril dropping your NJEA membership. I would caution you about signing any documents without
Elizabeth Matulevich having all the facts.
     Marie McCarthy
Donna Morelli Please stay informed over the summer. We will continue to push out information using “mail
Gloria Pachos chimp.” It is essential that you update your personal contact information (address and home
Gail Semeniak email) on the NJEA website. If you are using a school email address as your personal contact on
Lynne Small the NJEA database, you will be removed from email distributions. Go to www.njea.org, click on
Carol Sorkin “sign in” at the top right-hand corner of the screen to update your profile. Enter your NJEA PIN
Maureen Staib number if this is the first time you are logging into the site, you can also enter your email if you
     Donna Taylor
Johanna Troshane are an established user. Then enter your password (the last four digits of your social security
Michelle Vacchio number unless you changed it.) **If you do not have your NJEA membership card with your PIN
Bessie Vachna number on it, please email or call the EBEA office and we can provide that information for you.
Donald Vikse Then click on “My NJEA” on the right side of your screen. Then scroll down to “profile” and click
Lori Wallis it. Please update your information and click on “submit new information.” Subscribe to the EBEA
